UNIVERSITAT AUTÒNOMA DE BARCELONA (UAB)
Anna Matamala
Anna is an associate professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She is a member of the research group TransMedia Catalonia. Her research interests are media accessibility, audiovisual translation, and applied linguistics. She is active in standardisation. Anna has been the main researcher of the EASIT project and has led the development of the open access educational materials.
Anna Fernández-Torné
Anna is a Research Support Technician at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She is a member of the research group TransMedia Catalonia. Her research interests are audiovisual translation and media accessibility. Anna has been the project manager of the EASIT project and has coordinated the development of the open access educational materials.
Carme Mangiron
Carme is a senior lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She is a member of the research group TransMedia Catalonia. Her main research interests are game accessibility and game localisation. Carme has been the quality manager and the dissemination manager of the EASIT project.
DYSLEXIFÖRBUNDET
Ester Hedberg
Ester is a journalist, project manager and policy officer at the Swedish National Association for Dyslexia. She is also a master student (60 credits) at Linneuniversitetet in Växjö, focusing on easy language in news broadcasts. She has been a partner in the EASIT project.
Rio Hellgren
Rio comes from a town called Boden, located in northern Sweden. He now lives in Stockholm and works as a project administrator for some of Dyslexiförbundet’s projects. Rio was a video editor and subtitler of some videos of the EASIT project.
INTERNATIONALE HOCHSHULE SDI MÜNCHEN
Rocío Bernabé
Rocío holds a PhD on Easy-to-Understand Access Services, a MA in Translation, and a MA in Barrier-free Digital Documents and Technologies. She is deputy head of the Translation and Interpreting College of the SDI München (Germany).
Her research focuses on easy-to-read and easy-to-understand language in digital contexts and audiovisual access services. Presently she works in ISO and DIN standardization groups in easy-to-read and plain language.
She is the main researcher in the LiveTextAccess project on live subtitling, IO leader and accessibility manager in the EASIT project, and is partner in the Train2Validate project.
Piero Cavallo
Piero holds an MA in Linguistic, Literary and Translation Studies, achieved with honours at Sapienza University of Rome. Piero was a lecturer, research collaborator, subtitler, proofreader and video editor for the EASIT project.
He is a researcher in the LiveTextAccess project as well as in the Train2Validate Erasmus+ projects.
Paula Gracia Pons
Paula holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Alicante. In 2017 she was awarded an Erasmus grant in SDI München (Germany) which allowed her to collaborate with the EASIT project. She was a translator for the Spanish language and narrator. She also helped with the organization of the event. She is currently a freelance translator and interpreter working with the languages German, English and Spanish.
Tamara Molina
Tamara studied Translation and Interpreting at SDI München (Germany). She was a translator for the EASIT project and also helped with the organization and execution of the event.
RTV SLOVENIJA
Veronika Rot
Veronika holds a university degree (MA equivalent) in Spanish Language and Literature and in Philosophy. She is a literary translator from Spanish and Catalan language. At RTV Slovenija she works as a journalist and editor at the Accessibility Services Department. As a supervisor and coordinator she is involved in all the accessibility projects and processes at RTV Slovenija: audiodescription, subtitling, audiosubtitling and sign interpretation, and she is also an editor of two specialised web portals at RTV Slovenija, one of them is in easy-to-understand language. Veronika was EASIT project coordinator at RTV Slovenija.
Andrej Tomažin
Andrej holds a university degree (MA equivalent) in Slovenian Language and Comparative Literature. He is a part of the Accessibility Team at RTV Slovenija. He is engaged with implementing various accessibility technologies at RTV Slovenija, focusing on the research of new possibilities of audio description and other accessibility services of television production and the use of Easy Slovenian in audiovisual and online context. Andrej was a lecturer, research collaborator, video and audio editor, subtitler, proofreader, scriptwriter, and advisor for video standards for the EASIT project.
Blaž Zajc
Blaž is a graphic designer. He creates graphic design for a variety of RTV Slovenija’s TV shows: from children and youth shows to political debates. He is the animator of the “Professor Pencil” videos and was also involved in the overall graphic design of the EASIT project.
Miha Zor
Miha holds a university degree (MA equivalent) in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory, as well as in Slovene Language and Literature. He is currently working on a doctoral thesis in History of Art. He works at RTV Slovenija as a radio announcer and voicing expert, holding lectures in Slovene phonetics and being a pronunciation coach for radio and TV announcers and journalists. In addition, he collaborates as an audiodescriber with the Accessibility Services Department at RTV Slovenija. At the EASIT project he is the voice of “Professor Pencil” in the introductory videos, but can also be heard in other video material.
STIFTUNG UNIVERSITÄT HILDESHEIM (SUH)
Christiane Maaß
Christiane is a tenured professor for media linguistics at the University of Hildesheim. She is the director of the Research Centre for Easy Language (Forschungsstelle Leichte Sprache). Her research interests are media linguistics, translation studies, accessible communication, and Easy Language. She is also head of the PhD research team “Accessible Medical Communication” (BKMed). In the EASIT project, Christiane has been the partner leader for the University of Hildesheim. She is also one of the lecturers in the teaching materials.
Sergio Hernández Garrido
Sergio is a research assistant at the University of Hildesheim and the Research Centre for Easy Language (Forschungsstelle Leichte Sprache). He is also a PhD student in the research team “Accessible Medical Communication (BKMed). His research interests are audiovisual translation, translation studies, media accessibility, and Easy Language. In EASIT, Sergio has been local coordinator, dissemination manager and quality manager for the University of Hildesheim. He is also one of the lecturers in the teaching materials.
Laura Marmit
Laura is an MA student at the University of Hildesheim, Germany. She is studying in the Accessible Communication program at the Faculty for Translation Science and Technical Communication. Laura Marmit both assisted in organising the EASIT Multiplier Event 3 as well as to prepare educational material.
Nikola Bawlowicz
Nikola is currently studying International Communication and Translation at the University of Hildesheim. As an active member of the Research Centre for Easy Language (Forschungsstelle Leichte Sprache), she supported the preparation and subtitling of video lectures for the EASIT project.
Marco Monteleone
Marco is a MA student in Languages and Techniques at the University of Hildesheim. As an active member of the Research Centre for Easy Language (Forschungsstelle Leichte Sprache) he edits audiovisual content and creates subtitles. Marco supported the EASIT project by editing video lectures and creating their subtitles.
UNIVERSIDADE DE VIGO
Luis Alonso-Bacigalupe
Luis is a senior lecturer at Universidade de Vigo. He is a member of the international research centre GALMA (Galician Observatory for Media Access). His research is mainly concerned with simultaneous interpreting and with the provision of accessible subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing through interlingual respeaking. Luis has been responsible for the recording of the educational materials.
Lourdes Lorenzo-García
Lourdes is a senior lecturer at Universidade de Vigo. She is a member of the Anglo-German Children’s Literature and its Translation research group. Her research has focused on children’s literature translation and screen translation, particularly subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing. Lourdes has been responsible for the creation of the open access educational materials.
Jesús Meiriño-Gómez
Jesús is a research assistant of the EASIT project. She is a member of the international research centre GALMA (Galician Observatory for Media Access). His main research interests are metaphor and translation, and business translation. Jesús has been responsible for coordinating the development of the open access educational materials.
Teresa Lucía Otero-Beloso
Teresa holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from Universidade de Vigo. She is currently a student of the MA in Multimedia Translation at the same university. Teresa was a narrator and subtitler of some videos for the EASIT project.
Ana Pereira-Rodríguez
Ana is a senior lecturer at Universidade de Vigo. She is a member of the Anglo-German Children’s Literature and its Translation research group. Her research has focused on the comparative study of English and Spanish genre and register within Systemic Functional Linguistics; children’s literature translation; and screen translation, particularly subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing. Ana has been responsible for the creation of the open access educational materials.
Pablo Romero-Fresco
Pablo is Ramón y Cajal researcher at Universidade de Vigo (Spain) and Honorary Professor of Translation and Filmmaking at the University of Roehampton (London, UK). He is the leader of the international research centre GALMA (Galician Observatory for Media Access). His main research interests include media accessibility, accessible filmmaking, and pre-recorded and live subtitling. Pablo has been EASIT project coordinator at Universidade de Vigo.
Laura Sánchez-Castro
Laura holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from Universidade de Vigo. In 2019 and 2020, she was awarded two training fellowships which allowed her to collaborate with the Faculty of Telecommunication Engineering (Universidade de Vigo) in the translation of scientific and technical texts. She is currently a student of the MA in Multimedia Translation at the same university. Laura was a narrator and subtitler of some videos for the EASIT project.
UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI TRIESTE (UNITS)
Elisa Perego
Elisa is an associate professor at the University of Trieste, Italy. Her research interests are audiovisual translation, media accessibility and language simplification. She has recently started to investigate the language of podcasts. Elisa has been the main researcher of the ADLAB PRO project on audio description (2016-19), and a partner in the EASIT project.
Martina Atzeri
Martina is a student of Applied Interlinguistic Communication at Università degli Studi di Trieste, subtitler and editor of some videos for the EASIT project.
Andreea Deleanu
Andreea is a Conference Interpreting MA graduate with honours from Università degli Studi di Trieste, Italy. She is a community interpreter and works as a healthcare B2B interpreter and translator for patients with English or Spanish as their mother tongue or lingua franca. Andreea was a video editor, translator and narrator of some videos for the EASIT project.
Angelika De Marchis
Angelika was born in Frosinone, a small city in Lazio. She went to high school in her hometown and then she moved to Trieste to study Interpreting and Translation. Angelika was a video editor and translator of some videos for the EASIT project.
Caterina La Colla
Caterina is 24 years old and she is from Catania, Sicily. She holds a BA in Applied Interlinguistic Communication and is now attending the Master’s degree program in Specialized Translation and Conference Interpreting to and from English and Russian, at Università degli Studi di Trieste. Caterina was a narrator of some videos for the EASIT project.
Laura Marini
Laura was born in Vicenza, a town in the northeast of Italy. She spent a year and a half as an AuPair in London before deciding to study interpreting and translation in Trieste, where she is currently attending her third year. Laura was a video editor and translator of some videos for the EASIT project.
Annalisa Navetta
Annalisa was born in Cecina, a small town in Tuscany, near Leghorn. She stayed in Cecina for her studies up until her fourth year of high school, when she spent a year abroad in Pennsylvania, USA. She graduated high school back in Cecina and then decided to study interpreting and translation at Università degli Studi di Trieste. She is currently in her third year and about to get her degree. Annalisa was a video editor, translator and narrator of some videos for the EASIT project.
ZAVOD RISA
Tatjana Knapp
Tatjana is an NGO director and project coordinator at Zavod RISA, and a part-time researcher at the University of Ljubljana.
Knapp often does teamwork with people with disabilities and various professionals, which results in production and promotion of Easy language, advocacy and trainings for professionals and self-advocates. She is author of several publications in and on Easy language.
In EASIT, she was the leader of the partner’s organization, the partner’s main researcher and contributor.
Drago Brumen
Drago is a specialist in business analysis, information and communications technology (ICT), and an advisor and volunteer at Zavod RISA. He is a researcher and innovator in the field of Easy language and ICT, a trainer of ICT literacy of people with intellectual disabilities and the technical editor of many Easy language publications. In EASIT, he contributed to the technical aspects of the training materials.
Nevenka Kos
Nevenka is a self-advocate, national ambassador of Easy Slovene, an experienced validator of Easy language texts, a trainer, editor, advisor, and volunteer at Zavod RISA.
With her work and attitude, Kos sets an example and provides inspiration for many other self-advocates and validators.
In EASIT, she contributed to the initial research and provided feedback on end-users related issues.
Saša Lesjak
Saša is a professional at Zavod RISA. She works in programs Personal assistance and Centre for communication and Easy language.
Author of many adaptations and original texts in Easy language, editor, mentor, and trainer, Lesjak is a co-creator of the four levels of Easy Slovene. In EASIT, she contributed to the initial research and dissemination of the project results.
